“Once you stop learning you start dying.” ~ Albert Einstein
Three years ago I made one of the best decisions of my life… To take my health into my own hands…. To educate myself on nutrition… to step outside of the box going against what everyone else is doing, against what mainstream believes to be healthy, and start my journey to TRUE OPTIMAL HEALTH. Three years ago I went Whole foods PLANT BASED. With what started as a focus on food for healing has turned into a lifestyle of abundance, self love, compassion, confidence and strength. I have learned so much about myself in this process. I have learned to love each step of my journey, to trust the process. I have learned that it is ok to be uncomfortable and to stand by what you believe, because doing something different than most is not always easy but WORTH it. Growth comes from discomfort. I have learned to listen to my body. I have learned that in order to succeed you will sometimes fail. I have learned a lot of new recipes. I have learned that when you are truly passionate about something you never want to stop learning about it… I have learned what I am truly passionate about!
What I did not realize three years ago is that through this decision I would find my true passion. My true passion is to inspire others to take their health into their own hands, inspire others to love themselves enough to take good care of their body by feeding it the right foods(plant based diet), movement and stress management. I want to inspire moms and dads out there to make healthy plant based eating and lifestyle choices a priority in the home so that the next generation and the generation after that will know how to eat. I want to show moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents that eating plant based can be easy, delicious and inexpensive. I want to inspire those that are on medication for lifestyle diseases to look at the food they eat and make a change there instead of taking a pill. One step in the direction of inspiration is this blog. I also have an instagram and Facebook account where I share stuff as well as a youtube channel that I recently started, and I just started nutrition school. There is a lot to come so I hope you follow me on my journey and can get something from it. Share with your friends as well. You never know where someone is at and something I share just might help inspire them to make different choices.
For a little inspiration and education I recommend the following films to watch, all of which you can find on Netflix:
- Forks Over Knives
- What the Health
And the following books:
- The China Study
- How Not to Die
- The Cheese Trap
I hope you all have a beautiful day! Let me know if you have any questions about this lifestyle or maybe how you can incorporate more plants into your diet.
