Hey all you wonderful people! I hope you are having a good start to your week. Ours is good so far. We are back in the homeschool grind and I must say today was a success. We started back last week like a lot of public schools, and well lets just say last week 1 out of the 4 days we do school at home went as planned….lol. I made a few adjustments in our schedule, and today the flow was much better. This year we joined a Homeschool Performing Arts Coop that is on Friday’s, so we fit our curriculum in Monday through Thursday and then have choir, band and drama on Friday. The kids are really enjoying it and are doing great. They are making new friends and look forward to going each week. I stay at the coop all day and volunteer while they are there so I am making new mom friends as well. Here are a few pictures from our first week of school.
Sometimes they are at their desks… Sometimes they are at the dinning room table…
And, Sometime we take it outside. I look forward to the Fall when it is way more comfortable to be outside! This is them in one of their coop classes. They have a few classes together, and a couple where they are separate. To break things up each day we get outside on a walk before we finish our schooling. This day we jumped in rain puddles. So fun! Belle was having a “stay in your PJ’s day”. With it being a rainy day I thought it was appropriate!
When we were done playing in the rain puddles the kids took a bath and then wanted Hot Chocolate… SO I made them a Vegan Hot Chocolate. It was so yummy. We heated almond milk(1 cup) and then added cacao powder (1 tablespoon) and agave syrup to sweeten it. After our long break we got back to doing school and they were so refreshed from getting to play. Play is so important so I make sure they get plenty of that into our school day!
While it can be hard and frustrating somedays, I love that I get to be with them, watching them learn, and learning so much with them.
Another major thing going on in my life right now that I don’t think I have blogged about yet is that I have started my Yoga Teacher Training. YES! I am going to be a Yoga Teacher! I am so excited! This has been a dream of mine for years, and well life happened, kids came along, we moved cities and it got put on the back burner until now. The training is over the next 4 months. I will be spending 10 weekends in Houston getting my certification. This is making life a little more busy for me but is so worth it. Thankfully I have an amazing supportive husband and family that are helping me out! I will keep you guys updated here on the blog as well as on my social media as the training goes on.
Well, that is all I have for now. I hope you all have a wonderful week.
