Where focus goes energy flows. ~ Tony Robbins
Hey, it has been a long time since I posted so I wanted to update you all on what I have been up to these last 5 months or so. I did not intend to take a break from blogging, but life got busy and well something had to be set aside for a bit. Once you get out of something it is always hard to get back to it, but I am finally here! I can’t believe we are about to be in the 3rd month of 2017…. Anyway!
Sooo….. the biggest reason I took a break is because I was going through my RYT(Registered Yoga Teacher) 200 teacher training. It was from August-December for 10 different weekends (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). In addition to the time spent at the studio on those weekends we had to take an additional 20 hour long classes, and do homework. Needless to say I was really busy. Justin was an awesome husband and daddy and spent those weekends with the kids all by himself except for maybe 1 or two. At the beginning of January I started teaching at a local studio called Island Salt Air. It is a hot yoga studio and I am loving it. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time and I am happy to be doing it.
The weekends that I did not have yoga were busy as well. We had bridal showers, weddings (2), family birthdays, camping trips, school performances, field trips and holidays. Here are some pictures of some of our events!
My mom turned 60 so we had a surprise Birthday party at my house for her.
We took a field trip to a strawberry farm. They had fall activities and a corn maze. It was HOT but we had fun!
Belle in the corn maze… What a cutie! She ended up taking her shirt off because it was a very warm Fall day!
HIKES! I try to take the kids on hikes. Need to do more of it, but on this day we hiked to this dock in the woods and did some school activities. We had such a nice time. A place with no distractions!
We spent some time out at my in-laws and enjoyed time with family picking oranges! These oranges were so juicy! Some of the best I have ever had!
For THANKSGIVING this year the four of us decided to go camping. With me being away every other weekend, we needed a little more family time and adventure. We went to Garner State Park here in Texas, and had such a great time together. We went on a hike every day, played putt-putt, did a nature scavenger hunt that was put on by the park, and enjoyed yummy vegan food and campfires.
Such a beautiful place!
Another thing added to our schedule this fall was the kids coop that we go to every Friday. It is a performing arts coop where the kids have choir lessons, rhythm band and drama(creative movement). It is run by the parents and a few specialized teachers. The parents who are musically inclinded teach what they can and then we hire others. Those of us who are not music savvy assist where we are needed. It has been fun. We have met great people! At the end of each semestier we put on a performance to show what the kids have learned. So cute.
Right after my teacher training was done my baby turned 5…. She is such an amazing, kind, beautiful soul. I can’t believe how big she is getting. For her birthday she wanted to get her ears pierced so that is what we did. We also took them to the indoor part of Schlitterbahn and of course dinner out and cake with family.
And then there was Christmas! We love Christmas and it just gets more fun the older they get. I’ll leave it at Santa was good to us!
The new year has started of great. I started teaching at a studio here on the Island (Island Salt Air) and am loving that. We have already gone camping, been to another family wedding and had a baby shower/girls weekend for my best friend. Things have slowed done at least for now. I plan on getting back to my blogging. I hope to start with a post a week, and we will see from there.
I hope everyones year is going well.
