Happy Hump Day you wonderful people. How are y’all today? I am doing great. Life has been a bit busy, but fun. A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of watching my brother compete and finish his first Ironman. A distance of 70.3 miles all together. It consisted of a 1.2 mile open water swim in Galveston Bay, a 56 mile bike ride around the island and a 13.1 mile run. This is a huge feat for anyone and I am so proud of him. My soon to be sister Kari made some awesome shirts for us all to wear, and there was a big group cheering him on. Such a fun day.
My brother decided about a year ago that he was going to do this. Having been in marching band in high school and college as well as a band director as a career he had not athletically competed. While marching band is hard work and good exercise, the commitment he took on was way beyond that. He set a goal, spent countless hours training for it and did it. He is a huge inspiration! Seeing him go for this goal inspired me to go for a couple goals of my own. Goals that I had, but did not have action plans for. Everyone has different goals in life, but we need to set them, have a game plan and go for them. Make small daily, weekly, monthly goals as well as some long term goals. Make personal goals, family and work goals and financial goals. Watch these videos with Dani Johnson on goal setting.
Starting at the beginning of May I will be posting my monthly goals for the month. I hope this will inspire others to set goals as well as keep me on track for my own!
Have a wonderful week.
